Visit to the mine

The Mining Museum offers visitors the experience of going 35 meters deep, taking a guided tour through the galleries on the first floor of the Eugènia mine, which date back to the late 19th century.

Before taking the guided tour of the mine, it is recommended to first visit the museum’s permanent exhibition, as well as the audiovisuals shown there.

What is a visit to the mine like?

The visit to the mine is always guided and lasts approximately 45 minutes. It is a walking tour that begins in the middle of the surface facilities of the mine and then continues to the first level, located 35 meters underground, accessed through the stairs of the mine’s former emergency exit.
Once inside, visitors follow a route of about 700 meters through different galleries, where they can observe the mineral richness of the subsoil, the working techniques, and the harshness of the miners’ labor.
At the end of the visit, the return to the surface does not require climbing stairs, as the exit leads directly to the old mine waste heap, and from there, visitors walk back to the museum facilities.

Visit conditions:

Wearing a helmet is mandatory.
The visit is always guided.
Photography is allowed (without tripod).
Video recording is not allowed without prior authorization.
Food and drinks are not permitted.
Smoking is prohibited.
Animals are not allowed.
The temperature inside the mine ranges between 16–18°C throughout the year.
Comfortable footwear is recommended.
